An Englishman’s home is his castle – or so the saying goes! So why not take a leaf out of the books of the Kings and Queens of history and treat your home to a bit of a makeover! Here are a few things that you can do that will increase the value of your home – whether you are thinking of moving on soon, or staying for years to come, you will feel the benefits!

Build an Extension – Extensions are a great way to solve the problem of not having a lot of space without actually having to move to a new house. Adding an extra room to your home can completely change it for the better, as long as it is well planned out and well built. Another option is a conservatory and you will have a whole new room to enjoy. If you have young children a conservatory also doubles up as a great playroom.

Give the Kitchen a Facelift – One of the things that can make or break the sale of a house is the appearance of the kitchen. New lighting, towel rails and decorative touches such as a large mirrored wall and new tiles will make your bathroom look new – even if it isn’t!

Front of House – The first thing that you and your visitors will see of your home is the front door and hallway – so don’t overlook them! A fresh lick of paint on the front door and a tidy and well maintained front garden (if you have one) creates a good impression right from the start. Don’t forget the hallway – a light bright and tidy hallway is much nicer to walk into than a cluttered and dark one!
